First Responders

First responders are members of the community who have been trained to attend emergencies (heart attacks etc.).

They are contacted by the emergency services and can usually get to an emergency before the paramedics. Because they are on the spot, they are able to start the crucial recovery process within a very short time.

Voluntary Help Centre

Registered Charity No. 1164155

The Voluntary Help Centre in Southwold provides a community car service for people living in Southwold, Reydon and surrounding villages, including Wrentham. The community car service prioritises getting people to medical appointments such as at the hospital, doctors, dentists etc., however if we have drivers available we can also accommodate other trips such as hair appointments, shopping, etc.

We are currently looking for volunteer drivers in all areas. In particular, volunteers are needed in Walberswick, Blythburgh, Wangford and Wrentham, to help meet journey requests from those villages.

So why not join the VHC and be a volunteer before you need a volunteer? Volunteer drivers receive 45p per mile per journey undertaken.

Come and talk to us at the Stella Peskett Millennium Hall and see how you can help, or phone us on
